“If you teach a boy, you educate an individual; but if you teach a girl, you educate a community.” Shri Ashwini Kumar Tripathy, RED WR II & OS aptly quoted in the auspicious inauguration of Girl Empowerment Mission 2023.

Girl Empowerment Mission, a flagship event of the CSR department of NTPC, commenced at NTPC Khargone on 01.05.23. 40 girl children from Project Affected Villages were selected for a month-long educative camp initiated by NTPC Khargone. Girls from vicinity villages like Selda, Dalchi, Katora, Khedi, Dabhad and many more are participating in GEM 2023.

The GEM workshop 2023 was inaugurated by Shri Ashwini Kumar Tripathy, RED WR II & OS in the august presence of Shri R.K. Kanojia, ED Khargone, Smt. Uma Tripathy, President (Arpita Mahila Samiti), Smt Archana Kanojia, President, Ahilya Mahila Samiti and other senior officials.

During the inauguration ceremony, cultural programs were staged by newly joined participants of GEM 2023 and experiences were also shared by the participants of previously held GEM workshop in 2022.

ED Khargone in his address motivated the participants and also expressed his tanks to the parents of the participants for having faith in NTPC and sending their wards to the GEM Workshop. Shri A.K. Tripathy also shared and outlined NTPC’s vision in the conduct of the Girl Empowerment Mission.
